Evaluating the Relationship Between Perceive Ease of Use, Perceive Usefulness, and Students' Attitudes Toward the Intention to Use AI Technology

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is increasingly gaining traction in the field of education, including Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). This study aims to evaluate the relationship between perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and TVET students' attitudes towards their intention to use AI technology in learning, based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A total of 234 first-year students from the ISMPV and BTECH programs at the Faculty of Technical and Vocational Education (FPTV), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), participated as respondents. This study focuses on four main constructs within TAM: Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, Attitude Toward Use, and Behavioral Intention to Use. A questionnaire was used as the research instrument to collect data, and analysis was conducted using SPSS software. The findings indicate that the levels of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, and students’ intention toward using AI are high. Spearman correlation analysis also revealed significant relationships between ease of use, usefulness, and attitude with students’ intention to continue using AI technology in their learning. Overall, this study presents a positive outlook on the acceptance of AI technology among TVET students and supports the broader integration of AI in self-directed and technical learning systems in higher education institutions.
